Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill has claimed that he is not surprised by Arsenal's reported interest in West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans.
The 28-year-old, who has been named in O'Neill's 23-man squad for a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Czech Republic, joined the Baggies from United last year.
It is believed that Arsenal are mulling over a move for Evans in order to aid their flailing defence after Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista suffered injuries.
O'Neill has sung the praises of Evans, who helped his Irish nation reach the last-16 stage of the European Championships earlier this summer.
"Jonny was outstanding in France," The Mirror quotes O'Neill as saying. "He can switch in and out of systems. He's a top-level player and could play in a top-four Premier League club. The interest from Arsenal doesn't surprise me."
Evans came through the youth ranks at United and made his senior debut at Old Trafford in 2006.
