Lucas Torreira heading for Fiorentina loan move?

Arsenal could reportedly recall Lucas Torreira from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid in order to send the midfielder to Fiorentina for the second half of the 2020-21 campaign.

The 24-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium over the summer and subsequently joined Atletico, but he has struggled for regular action at the Wanda Metropolitano.

A recent report claimed that the Gunners are considering ending the Uruguay international's stay with Diego Simeone's side due to his lack of football.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Fiorentina have emerged as suitors for the South American, with the Italian outfit prepared to offer him regular football in the second half of the season.

Torreira has made 89 appearances for his parent club in all competitions since arriving from Sampdoria in 2018.

The midfielder still has two and a half years left to run on his contract with the Gunners.
