Jose Mourinho: 'Ashley Cole could leave Chelsea'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho admits that Ashley Cole may be leaving the West London club at the end of the season, with New York Red Bulls a possible destination.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that Ashley Cole may be leaving the West London club at the end of the season.

The England defender is out of contract in the summer and has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team's starting XI this season.

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has allegedly revealed that he would be happy if Cole joined him at MLS outfit New York Red Bulls in the summer.

"Yes, [Cole] has [got a future at Chelsea], but maybe Thierry has a better proposal." the Portuguese coach told Sky Sports News.

"Maybe Thierry is doing with Red Bulls the same as David (Beckham) is doing in Miami. Maybe he's buying Red Bulls! I have to ask Thierry Henry."

Cole could return for Chelsea on Saturday against Newcastle United in the Premier League.
