Johan Djourou's agent claims that the Arsenal man wants to extend his stay away from the Emirates.

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou wants to make his loan move to Hannover 96 permanent in the summer, according to his agent.

The Swiss centre-back joined the Bundesliga outfit on loan in January until the end of the season after failing to break into the Gunners defence, and has made nine appearances so far for the Germans.

His agent, Marco Lichtsteiner, insists that the 26-year-old wants to stay at the AWD-Arena.

"Johan and his family are finding life very nice in Hannover," Lichtsteiner told German daily Bild.

"The project is suitable for him and in the coming days we will start talking about him staying with Jorg Schmadtke.

"We know that his return to Arsenal is already scheduled, but we want to make clear our intentions."

Djourou is currently Arsenal's longest-serving player.
