Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has reportedly messaged David Luiz to confirm that a fake account slamming the defender's move to Arsenal was indeed not him.

The 32-year-old completed a shock move to the Emirates on transfer deadline day for a fee of £8m.

An account posing as Christensen posted a photo of the pair soon after the transfer went through with the caption "No player is bigger than the club".

Chelsea quickly dismissed this account as spurious, but according to The Sun, Christensen has personally contacted Luiz to reassure the Brazilian that he had nothing to do with the post.

Luiz, who had two spells at Stamford Bridge, made 105 appearances over three campaigns in all competitions after leaving Paris Saint-Germain to rejoin the club in 2016.

Unai Emery has thrown Luiz straight into the action, with the defender starting games against Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
