Chelsea fend off Arsenal interest to agree a deal with 16-year-old Isaiah Brown, with a compensation fee still to be agreed with West Bromwich Albion.

Chelsea have reportedly beaten Arsenal to the signature of teenage starlet Isaiah Brown.

The 16-year-old made his Premier League debut for West Bromwich Albion last season, but is believed to have his heart set on a move away from The Hawthorns.

Brown operates primarily as a midfielder but is a versatile option, playing in a variety of positions as an England youth international.

Arsenal have monitored Brown's progress carefully over an extended period of time but the Blues have acted swiftly to sign the highly-rated prodigy on a lucrative, long-term deal, according to The Mirror.

West Brom are reported to be furious at losing their academy's brightest prospect and will seek substantial compensation from Chelsea at an independent tribunal.
