Arsenal are reportedly prepared to offer Joel Campbell or another squad player as a makeweight in any deal to sign Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United.
Speculation on Monday claimed that Debuchy was poised to undergo a medical at the Emirates Stadium ahead of a potential transfer in the region of £8m.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is pursuing the France international right-back as he seeks a replacement for Bacary Sagna, who left to join Manchester City this summer, but the structure of Debuchy's fee has yet to be agreed.
The Newcastle Chronicle claims that Arsenal may look to include Campbell, who impressed for surprise package Costa Rica at the World Cup but is expected to be loaned out by the Londoners again, or Carl Jenkinson in a part-exchange package.
Alan Pardew may be interested in adding 22-year-old Campbell to his forward line after losing loanee Loic Remy, but is likely to turn down Jenkinson as he targets Micah Richards as Debuchy's replacement.
