Arsenal are reportedly prepared to offer Mikel Arteta an improved contract, despite the midfielder having been at the club a mere 10 months.
The club's chief executive Ivan Gazidis is expected to sit down with the Spaniard's representatives this week to review Arteta's current four-year contract believed to be worth £60,000 per week, according to BBC Sport.
Arteta moved to the Emirates from Everton last summer for £10m and has scored six goals in 38 appearances for the Gunners since his arrival.
Meanwhile, the North London outfit have yet to tie down star striker Robin van Persie to a new contract amid rumours that the Dutchman could opt for a move away from the club.
