Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both reportedly interested in signing Benfica defender Alex Grimaldo.
The 24-year-old came through the youth system at Barcelona but failed to make a single first-team appearance for the Catalan giants before joining Benfica in 2015.
The former Spain Under-21 international has developed into a key player for the Eagles in recent seasons, while he has also started the 2019-20 campaign in impressive fashion for his Portuguese club.
Grimaldo has contributed four assists in just nine league outings this term, while he has also played the full 90 minutes in each of his side's three Champions League group matches.
According to A Bola, Arsenal and Tottenham are preparing to battle Napoli for the left-back, who could be available for around £34m as his contract is due to expire in 2021.
The Gunners signed Kieran Tierney as competition for Sead Kolasinac at left-back over the summer.
Tottenham, though, are currently struggling in that area of the field with neither Danny Rose nor Ben Davies convincing for Mauricio Pochettino's side this season.
