Arsenal have rebuffed West Ham United's efforts to sign left-back Kieran Gibbs on a season-long loan.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is believed to be desperate to find a replacement for Aaron Cresswell, who has been ruled out for four months with a knee injury.
According to the London Evening Standard, Gibbs is a top target for West Ham, but their bid to sign him on a temporary deal has been knocked back by the Gunners.
It was reported today by Sky Sports News that the Hammers, whose home ground is now the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, have also had an attempt to sign Norwich City's Martin Olsson rejected.
Gibbs struggled for first-team action under Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger last season due to Nacho Monreal standing in his way.
The 26-year-old Englishman has been with the Gunners for 12 years.
