Arsenal are reportedly considering making a bid for Ajax right-back Gregory van der Wiel.

Arsenal are lining up a move for Ajax right-back Gregory van der Wiel, according to Dutch newspaper AD.

Van der Wiel has been linked with Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain recently but Arsenal are now considering a move for the 24-year-old.

Arsenal are short in the full-back area, with Carl Jenkinson playing at right-back while Bacary Sagna recovers from injury. However, Arsenal are remaining tight-lipped about the interest in Van der Wiel.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Arsenal executive Richard Law said: "I cannot confirm or deny. We never make announcements on transfer issues."

Van der Wiel has made 54 league appearances for Ajax since 2009.
