Team News: Everton, Arsenal make widescale changes ahead of Premier League meeting

Everton and Arsenal make six and 10 changes respectively ahead of their Premier League meeting at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Everton and Arsenal have made widescale changes to their respective starting XIs ahead of their Premier League clash at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Both sides were in Europa League action on Thursday night, with the Toffees losing 2-1 to Lyon and the Gunners winning 1-0 at Red Star Belgrade.

Ronald Koeman has made six changes, with Wayne Rooney, Phil Jagielka, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Idrissa Gueye and Leighton Baines all returning to the side.

Twenty-year-old full-back Jonjoe Kenny, meanwhile, makes his first Premier League start for 16th-placed Everton at right wing-back as Koeman opts for a three-man defence.

The three players who combined for Arsenal's winner in Belgrade in midweek - Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Olivier Giroud - all start on the bench for the Gunners today.

Arsene Wenger's 10 changes include a return to the starting XI for Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette, with only Petr Cech retaining his place from the game in Serbia.
