Arsene Wenger has said that Arsenal's Jack Wilshere should return to training next month.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that Jack Wilshere could return to full training next month.

Wilshere, who has so far missed the entire season after suffering a stress fracture of his right ankle over the summer, could still miss the remainder of the season. However, the Frenchman admits that he is optimistic.

"Wilshere is back with the ball and for us that is a huge step," he said. "The work we do with the ball is demanding.

"If all goes well he will be back in full training in three weeks, then another two weeks to get fit. I don't have to hold him back because at the moment he suffers a lot for fitness.

"His last scan was positive, so I think he will return this season if he has no setbacks now."

Meanwhile, Arsenal are in third place in the Premier League.
