Arsene Wenger claims that he saw a different side of Arsenal at Everton.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that he saw a different side of his team during their 1-0 win at Everton last night.

The Gunners, who move into third place in the Premier League after beating the Toffees at Goodison Park, went ahead through Thomas Vermaelen's first-half header before holding on to escape with all three points.

"We had a brilliant start," said Wenger. "Everton got back into the game after 30 minutes.

"In the second half, it was all Everton. We were resilient, focused and with a great desire to defend. Our defence did well tonight.

"We showed a side of us that people don't know. It was good to know that we can do that as well. We didn't panic and that is good for us."

Arsenal now sit a point ahead of rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League table.
