Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has thanked his manager Arsene Wenger for maintaining his trust in him despite his initial struggles in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old scored his first league goal of the season against West Ham United in a 3-1 victory at Upton Park on Saturday.
"I am very well integrated," he told RMC. "If I didn't score before, it was essentially a problem of effectiveness or success. It happens sometimes - periods like that - for any striker. In this case, we must continue to work.
"I never doubt [my ability]. [The goal] was facilitated by the support of my teammates, fans and of course the coach.
"He [Wenger] talks to me from time to time. That trust makes me feel good and that I am progressing every day."
Giroud joined Arsenal from French champions Montpellier in the summer.
