Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson claims that Emmanuel Adebayor is able to handle the abuse when he returns to Arsenal on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson has claimed that Emmanuel Adebayor will be able to handle the abuse from Arsenal fans during Sunday's derby at the Emirates Stadium.

Some Gunner supporters have refused to forgive the striker for leaving the club for Manchester City in 2009.

"Ade is a mentally strong guy," said Dawson. "He's had abuse before and dealt with it. I am sure he'll be able to do the same at the Emirates. As a team we are playing without fear, and with a lot of flair."

Spurs, who are currently third in the Premier League table, can move 13 points ahead of their local rivals with a win.
