Hull City boss Steve Bruce: 'Criticism of Arsene Wenger is ridiculous'

Hull City boss Steve Bruce says that criticism of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is "ridiculous".

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has described criticism of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as "ridiculous".

The Frenchman has come under fire after the Gunners slipped in the Premier League title race following defeats to Manchester United and Swansea City.

The North London outfit were in danger of losing at the hands of North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, but Alexis Sanchez struck in the 79th minute to claim a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane.

The Gunners will take on Hull tomorrow at the KC Stadium for their fifth-round replay in the FA Cup.

"Whatever team Arsenal put out, there are international players all over the place in the 25-man squad, they're an excellent team," Bruce told reporters on Monday.

"They've had a bit of criticism, which I find ridiculous, but then again it's part and parcel as a football manager at the moment. How anybody can criticise him is beyond me with what he's achieved and what he's done.

"I think that typifies them at the weekend - people are criticising them and then they go and respond the way they do, and that's typical Arsenal and typical Arsene Wenger."

Arsenal are third in the Premier League table, eight points behind leaders Leicester City.
