Half-Time Report: Wilfried Bony hands advantage to Swansea City

Wilfried Bony's header hands Swansea City a 1-0 lead over Arsenal at the interval in the capital.

Wilfried Bony has handed Swansea City a 1-0 lead over Arsenal at the halfway stage of their Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal started the game brightly, with Michel Vorm being forced to produce the first save of the match to deny Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a goal from the edge of the box.

However, it was the visiting supporters who were able to celebrate the opening goal in the 11th minute when Neil Taylor's inviting cross was powerfully headed home by Bony.

The Gunners struggled to cause problems after falling behind, with Per Mertesacker's header into the side-netting proving to be the closest they would come to pulling level before the break.

Arsenal enjoyed an extended spell of pressure prior to the interval, but they were restricted to speculative efforts as Oxlade-Chamberlain fired wide in space on the edge of the box.
