Peter Murphy scored the first goal halfway through the first half, and Padraig Amond added the second on 57 minutes after Romuald Boco's shot was saved.

Accrington Stanley went into the game on the back of a defeat away to 23rd-placed York City, but are now five points clear of the Minstermen.
