League Two roundup: Chesterfield lose but stay top

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's League Two action, including wins for Burton Albion, Rochdale and Hartlepool United.

Adam McGurk netted a brace as Burton Albion won 2-0 at League Two leaders Chesterfield on Saturday.

The Spireites, who remain top of the table on goal difference, are now without a win in their last four league games.

Rochdale are breathing down Chesterfield's neck in second after coming from behind to earn a dramatic 2-1 win at Cheltenham Town, where Ian Henderson scored twice in the final eight minutes.

Exeter City are now third following a 4-0 triumph at Scunthorpe United, a result that brought the Iron's seven-match unbeaten run to an abrupt end.

Morecambe and Oxford United both missed the chance to go top after being held to draws by AFC Wimbledon and bottom side Accrington Stanley respectively.

Elsewhere, Hartlepool United's resurgence continued as the Monkey Hangers recorded their fourth straight win in all competitions by beating Plymouth Argyle 1-0.

Pools, who had to play for over an hour with 10 men following Jack Compton's first-half red card, move six points clear of the relegation zone.

Northampton stay 23rd, despite holding Dagenham & Redbridge to a 2-2 draw at Sixfields.

Max Kretzschmar scored an 82nd-minute winner as Wycombe Wanderers recorded a narrow win at Bristol Rovers, who saw David Clarkson dismissed for violent conduct midway through the first half.

Bury's poor form continued with a 1-0 loss at Portsmouth, while Mansfield Town played out a goalless draw at 10-man Torquay United.

Finally, Newport County cruised to 3-0 home victory over York City thanks to goals from Chris Zebroski, Lee Minshull and Danny Crow.
