Italy's Giovanbattista Venditti bemoans "many mistakes"

Italy made too "many mistakes" during their Rugby World Cup loss to France, winger Giovanbattista Venditti tells Sports Mole.

Giovanbattista Venditti has admitted that Italy made too "many mistakes" during their 32-10 defeat to France in the Rugby World Cup last night.

Over 30 penalties were awarded during the contest at Twickenham, many of which the Italians conceded.

Speaking to Sports Mole after the final whistle, the Azzurri's try-scorer said: "I think that we defended well, but then at the same time there were many mistakes. The referee had to blow [his whistle] a lot and it cost [us]."

Next up for Italy is a clash against Romania and looking ahead to that fixture, the 25-year-old conceded that improvements will need to be made.

"We train and that is where we get better and build the confidence back. We still have plenty to play for," he added.

The encounter was only the second time that Italy had faced France at a neutral venue.
