France coach Guy Noves: 'I want spectacular rugby'

New France coach Guy Noves wants to implement Argentina's style of play to try to bring "spectacular" rugby back to the country.

New France head coach Guy Noves has demanded that the team start playing a "spectacular" style of rugby again to help get fans behind them.

Noves was due to take over from Philippe Saint-Andre even before the thrashing at the hands of New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup quarter-final.

"The human way I work with my players and staff, that will be the motor of life, plain and simple," former Toulouse coach Noves told reporters. "To get the best out of players and most of all to allow them to express themselves as best they can, I think you have to give them a lot.

"My first mission is to try to implement a style of rugby for the future, one which brings fans to the stadium - spectacular rugby.

"I want us to try to use the whole pitch, all its width, and hence go towards a rugby based on movement which is inspired by that which made Argentine rugby successful, which, for me, is a true example."

Noves's first match in charge will be at home to rivals Italy in the 2016 Six Nations.
