Elliot Daly, Jonny May retained in England squad

Elliot Daly and Jonny May appear to have won their fitness battles as both men are named in England's 26-man squad to face Argentina on Saturday afternoon.

Eddie Jones has retained Elliot Daly and Jonny May in his squad for England's opening Autumn International against Argentina on Saturday afternoon.

The wing duo are both part of the Red Rose's 26-man group, despite being described as major doubts for the Twickenham clash after suffering knee and hamstring injuries respectively.

Daly was initially ruled out of the Tests with Argentina and Australia entirely due to the severity of the problem sustained for club side Wasps against Northampton Saints late last month.

Jones is now able to call on both the 25-year-old and Leicester Tigers ace May, however, while Anthony Watson is also in contention to start.

Denny Solomona is one of seven players to have been sent back to their clubs, meanwhile, along with Piers Francis, Charlie Ewels, Nick Isiekwe, Zach Mercer, Sam Simmonds and Tom Dunn.
