Australia flanker Michael Hooper banned for Wales clash

Michael Hooper will miss the Rugby World Cup Pool A showdown with Wales after admitting an offence of foul play.

World Rugby has suspended Australia flanker Michael Hooper for one week after he admitted an offence of foul play.

Hooper charged into England full-back Mike Brown without the use of arms or grasping the player during the Wallabies' 33-13 victory over England on Saturday.

His suspension means that he will miss the Pool A showdown with Wales at Twickenham on Saturday which will decide who finishes top of the group.

Australia might also be without full-back Israel Folau after he picked up an ankle injury against England.
