Former star of The Apprentice Katie Hopkins has claimed that England legend Paul Gascoigne should be allowed to "crack on" with drinking.
The 46-year-old, who spent a stint in a rehab facility in the US for alcohol addiction, is believed to have slipped back into drinking ways in the last few weeks.
The former midfielder is said to have been taken into hospital earlier this week after collapsing in a London hotel.
"I think he's a happy drunk, he probably likes drinking," Hopkins said on Channel 5's The Wright Stuff. "Let him drink, let him crack on with it.
"I don't think we're going to be able to treat him, I don't think we can solve his problems, let him drink himself away."
Gascoigne was also arrested for allegedly assaulting his ex-wife Sheryl.
