Report: Wolfsburg fail in Breel Embolo move

A report claims that Basel have rejected an £18m offer from Wolfsburg for teenage forward Breel Embolo.

Wolfsburg have reportedly had an £18m offer for Basel's 18-year-old forward Breel Embolo rejected by the Swiss outfit.

The teenager came through the youth system at Basel and has also already turned out for Switzerland's senior side.

A host of European clubs, including Juventus, have been linked with the attacker, but according to Goal.com, it is Wolfsburg that launched an official offer.

The same report, however, claims that Basel were not prepared to entertain the bid as they believe that the Cameroon-born striker will be worth more next summer.

Embolo, who netted 16 league goals last season, has scored three goals in the Super League this season and also has two Europa League goals to his name.
