Eintracht Braunschweig and Wolfsburg have had to settle for a point each as the sides played out a 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga this afternoon.

The home side were the first to threaten as Karim Bellarabi found space outside the box, but his right-footed shot flew far too wide to the left of goal.

However, it was Wolfsburg who took the lead just before half time when Luiz Gustavo followed up from Naldo's original shot to tuck home a finish from a few yards out.

The visitors could have doubled their lead just before the break, as Slobodan Medojevic headed wide of the target following Ricardo Rodriguez's cross into the box.

The hosts made them pay for the miss straight after half time as Bellarabi brought the sides level with a neat finish coming from Domi Kumbela's cross into the area.

Jan Hochscheidt might have won it for Braunschweig late on as he got a shot off from the centre of the box, but it was blocked on its way to goal by a Wolfsburg defender.
