Jonny Evans wants more goals from West Bromwich Albion teammate Saido Berahino

Jonny Evans hopes that Saido Berahino will continue finding the net for West Brom after his heroics in the derby win at Aston Villa.

Jonny Evans has told West Bromwich Albion teammate Saido Berahino to make sure that his winner in Saturday's 1-0 victory at Aston Villa is the first of many this season.

The 22-year-old striker was handed his first start since vowing to never play for the Baggies again after seeing a deadline-day move to Tottenham Hotspur break down.

Nevertheless, he struck a 39th-minute winner at Villa Park as Albion snatched the points and the bragging rights, and Evans hopes that the youngster will kick on from here.

"It was pleasing for Saido to get his goal," the Northern Irish defender, who joined West Brom from Manchester United in the summer, is quoted as saying by the Birmingham Mail.

"It was a clever little touch to take it away from the keeper. It gets him off the mark and gets us back scoring goals."

West Brom sit 12th in the Premier League table.
