Chris Coleman feeling the pressure ahead of Belgium clash

Chris Coleman claims that he is 'as excited as he's ever been' on the eve of Wales's meeting with Belgium, as his side close in on a first major finals appearance since 1958.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has admitted that he is feeling excited and nervous in equal measure heading into this Friday's crunch Euro 2016 qualifier against Belgium.

The Red Devils travel to the Cardiff City Stadium sitting at the top of Group B by virtue of a better goal difference than their opponents, having taken the same number of points from their opening five games.

Both sides remain unbeaten thus far, but with a first major finals since 1958 on the horizon, Coleman has refused to play down the magnitude of the Belgium clash.

"I'm as excited as I've ever been in my career, player or manager," he told BBC Sport. "I'm under more pressure than I've ever been as well.

"Before we kicked a ball I wasn't going to play this campaign down. I sensed what we've got on the pitch and said as long as we got a little bit of luck in terms of injuries and suspensions, then something could happen in this campaign.

"I've never played it down from the start and I'm not going to play it down now."

Wales, who beat Israel 3-0 in their last outing, have lost just one of their last 10 games.
