Torino held by Parma

Parma have come from behind to hold Torino to a 1-1 draw and keep their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season alive.

Marco Parolo came close to scoring for Parma with a long-range effort that had to be turned behind by Daniele Padelli.

With three minutes of the first half remaining, Torino took the lead when Ciro Immobile made the most of a defensive mix-up to slot home.

Afriyie Acquah had a good chance for Parma on the hour-mark, but after being picked out in space on the edge of the box, he placed a strike narrowly over the bar.

The visitors' hopes of getting back into the game suffered a blow in the 64th minute, as Alessandro Lucarelli was shown a red card for dragging down Immobile, with the striker through on goal.

Despite their numerical disadvantage Parma drew level in the 72nd minute when Antonio Cassano saw his penalty saved and Jonathan Biabiany followed up to score from the rebound.

Three minutes later Torino found themselves down to 10 men after Immobile was shown a second yellow card for simulation.

Biabiany came close to snatching the three points for Parma late on, but he saw his strike saved by Padelli as the game finished on level terms.
