Mark Hughes rules out Peter Crouch, Tony Pulis West Bromwich Albion reunion

Stoke boss Mark Hughes says that newly-appointed West Brom manager Tony Pulis has little chance in signing Peter Crouch from him in the January transfer window.

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has played down reports that striker Peter Crouch could team up with Tony Pulis at West Bromwich Albion this month.

Speculation has mounted that Pulis could re-sign Crouch after being appointed Albion manager on Thursday, having brought him to the Britannia during his spell in charge.

However, Hughes has insisted that the 33-year-old is not for sale, and says that his performance in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United was that of a committed player.

"I read the papers. There's nothing in it. It's people putting two and two together and making five, possibly," he told Sky Sports News.

"He's a big part of what we do here and what we're trying to do moving forward. He knows what I think of him as a player and as a person.

"You saw by the manner of his performance he wasn't too bothered about any speculation surrounding his future. In my view, his future is with us."

The former Tottenham Hotpsur forward is out of contract with the Potters in the summer.
