Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp says that his side deserved their win at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Spurs beat the Midlands club 3-0 to pick up their first points of the season and lift them up to 13th in the table.

"This is a difficult place to come and we worked hard to get a win, but it was a deserved win," he said.

Redknapp was also pleased to see Jermaine Defoe and debutant loan signing Emmanuel Adebayor get off the mark for the season.

"It is nice to see them both get on the scoresheet and it is a great start for them. It is a good and positive result for us today as this is a difficult place to come."

The North London club next face a trip to Greek side PAOK Salonika in their first Europa League group match on Thursday.
