Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino claims that his side deserved their 3-2 win over West Ham, despite needing two late goals to avoid defeat.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that his side deserved their dramatic 3-2 victory over London rivals West Ham United this evening.

Spurs looked destined for their first league defeat of the season when they trailed 2-1 in the 89th minute, but Harry Kane scored twice in as many minutes at the death to secure all three points for the hosts at White Hart Lane.

Pochettino acknowledged that his side were not at their best, but believes that they are worthy of their "unbelievable win".

"It was really important to get the three points, it was a very tough game I'm very pleased with the performance. West Ham were very good and we showed big character and personality, the team always try to find the goal and for that I am very pleased. The players fought until the last minute and the reward was unbelievable," he told reporters.

"We created more than West Ham and if one team deserved to win at the end it was us. It is true it was not our best game, but it is a fantastic win.

"Harry Kane is always very important, he is our main striker and one of the best strikers in the world. You miss that type of player when he does not play for 10 or 11 games. The table looks much better, we are three points off the top and 12 unbeaten from the beginning. On Tuesday we have a big, big game against Monaco, we must win and it will be difficult."

The result also ended a seven-match winless streak in all competitions for Spurs.
