Ledley: 'Bale won't quit Wales early'

Joe Ledley says that Gareth Bale will not retire from international football at an early age to concentrate on club duties.

Joe Ledley believes that Gareth Bale will not opt out of international football in favour of prolonging a career with club sides.

Bale has been earning rave reviews for his exploits with Tottenham Hotspur this season, and there have been some suggestions that he will call time on his international career with Wales, who are ranked 71st in the world, early on to give him a better chance of playing at the highest level in club football.

However, Celtic midfielder Ledley believes that will not be the case with Bale, who has scored 16 times for Spurs this season.

"I can't see him picking and choosing his games," Ledley told the Daily Mail.

"He likes meeting up, being with the lads, the training and the games. Scotland will be nervous about playing against him. Most defenders would be - because I think he's good at everything."

Chris Coleman's side face the Scots in their World Cup qualifier on Friday.
