Benoit Assou-Ekotto admits that he could depart Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto has hinted that he could leave the club if they do not secure a spot in next season's Champions League.

The 28-year-old has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League since his move from Lens in 2009, but he has refused to rule out a move away from London.

"Everything is possible. When I met the chairman last January he told me that, if a club bigger than Tottenham came in for me, he wouldn't necessarily be against my departure," he told France Football.

"I have a gentleman's agreement with the chairman. As he is a man of his word, I hope that will make things easier if a great club comes in."

Tottenham sit fourth in the Premier League table with one game to play.
