Hugo Lloris hoping to be selected for League Cup final

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris admits that he is eager to beat Michel Vorm to a spot in the side for next month's League Cup final.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has claimed that he is desperate to earn a place in the side for the League Cup final against Chelsea.

Lloris has been rested throughout the competition to give understudy Michel Vorm playing time in his first season at White Hart Lane, but Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino has not yet revealed whether there will be a change of plan for the meeting with Chelsea next month.

"It's not my job to decide. I will respect the manager's decision and abide by that, like all the players here do. That is the mentality of this squad. If you play or you don't play, you are still involved in the squad," the Frenchman is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"It will be up to the gaffer to pick the team. At the moment we are not thinking about it too much because we still have plenty of games to go before the final and we take things game by game.

"I can't really think about that at the moment. I just have to focus on the next games. We will then see what happens."

Lloris and Spurs meet Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday evening.
