Nigel Adkins praises Reading strikers

Nigel Adkins is delighted with the performances of Adam Le Fondre and Pavel Pogrebnyak in the 5-1 win against Blackpool.

Reading manager Nigel Adkins has described Adam Le Fondre and Pavel Pogrebnyak as a "real threat" following the 5-1 win against Blackpool at the Madejski Stadium.

Le Fondre grabbed a hat-trick, while Pogrebnyak made it 3-0 just after half time.

Speaking after the match, Adkins said that the duo have struck up a promising partnership, although he also praised the overall team performance.

"Adam and Pavel are a real threat. They've got a great partnership going at the moment and long may it continue. They work so hard for the team as well," Adkins told Sky Sports News.

"Adam's three goals were just exceptional. It was a good team performance all round and there was a good level of consistency.

"A lot of that is down to being able to pick the same team for four matches in a row for the first time since I've been here. So it's no great surprise that we're now becoming more consistent."

Reading are sixth in the Championship.
