Neil Adams: 'Red card affected the game'

Norwich City manager Neil Adams believes that Martin Olsson's sending off against Wolverhampton Wanderers cost his side.

Neil Adams has admitted that Martin Olsson's red card affected Norwich City's performance in their defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon.

The Canaries played the last half hour of the match with just 10 men after Olsson picked up his second yellow in the 1-0 defeat at Molineux.

The manager told Sky Sports News: "Hugely. They always do, don't they. I was disappointed with the first yellow. It obviously does affect the game and it came at a point where we were dominating, we were starting to control the second half.

"Going down to 10 men, then you've got to readjust and reshuffle. They got the goal but we still had a couple of chances near the end to go and get something. But of course when you lose a man, it's a big moment in the game.

"Defensively we were very strong and had a good shape about us. Obviously we didn't pick up one cross and they scored from it, but there were a lot of positives to take from the game. But obviously you can't be pleased when you lose."

The match was Norwich's first in the Championship since their relegation from the Premier League last season, while Wolves are back in the division after spending the last campaign in League One.
