Newcastle United striker Demba Ba says that he will wear an anti-racism Kick It Out T-shirt but believes that racism will not be eradicated unless more is done.

Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has insisted that he will wear a Kick It Out anti-racism T-shirt before the Magpies' Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion.

While the 27-year-old has decided against joining a number of high-profile players, who refused to wear the T-shirt over the weekend, Ba believes that more needs to be done to combat discrimination in football.

"I have read a lot of things about the campaign, for example about Rio Ferdinand not wearing the T-shirt," the Daily Mail quotes Ba as saying. "I do not know if he is right not to wear it but that is his choice.

"I am unaware of the campaign because it is going to give a signal that you see it and read it and probably people will think the players act like this, and we have to do our bit.

"Something is right about the campaign but a T-shirt won't change a lot of things unfortunately. I will wear it because it is just kick racism out of football and it is a good message but I don't truly think that is going to change something."

Reports have claimed that Ba was allegedly targeted by racial taunts during Newcastle's 1-1 draw with Sunderland on Sunday.
