Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka confident of re-signing Chelsea's Kenneth Omeruo

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka says that Kenneth Omeruo wants to return to the club on loan.

Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo wants to return to Middlesbrough on loan, Boro boss Aitor Karanka has said.

The 20-year-old spent a portion of last season with Boro in the Championship, starting 14 games under Karanka.

"I hope that Ken is going to come here again because he has told me he wants to join us," the Evening Gazette quotes Karanka as saying.

"He wants to join us, Chelsea want him to come to us, I want him and for this reason I hope it is sorted as soon as possible."

Omeruo played every minute for Nigeria at the World Cup in Brazil as they were knocked out by France in the round of 16.
