Marseille match with Bastia halted by crowd trouble

Marseille fans halt their Ligue 1 match with Bastia after throwing missiles onto the pitch.

Marseille's crucial Ligue 1 fixture with Bastia has been halted after crowd trouble led to the referee bringing the players off at the Stade Velodrome.

OM opened up a 2-0 half-time lead against the Corsicans, but, during the opening period, keeper Jean-Louis Leca appeared to be struck by a firework from behind the goal.

As the players prepared to begin the second half, further missiles were thrown onto the pitch, which prompted the match officials to take both teams back to the dressing rooms.

Marseille need to win and hope that AS Monaco draw at Lorient if they are to secure the third and final place in next season's Champions League.
