Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara reportedly agrees personal terms with Premier League champions Manchester United.

Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara is allegedly on the brink of joining Manchester United after agreeing personal terms with the club.

The Spanish international is expected to cost the Premier League champions around around £17m, and will earn in the region of £5m a year at Old Trafford.

United are unlikely to announce the signing this Friday as talks between the two clubs are to continue over the weekend, according to the Daily Mail.

Thiago, 22, is considered one of the rising stars of Spanish football, but has been unable to establish himself as a first-team regular at Barca.

He came through the Spanish champions' youth scheme at the age of 14.
