Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who is also attracting interest from Barcelona.

Manchester United are interested in signing Martin Zubimendi from La Liga side Real Sociedad.

The Red Devils recruited Christian Eriksen and Casemiro in the summer, but they are still looking to strengthen their midfield.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are targeting Zubimendi, who usually plays as a defensive midfielder, but is also comfortable in a more advanced role.

The 23-year-old has a contract with the Basque club until June 2025, however, Man United could trigger his £51.4m release clause.

Zubimendi has featured in 16 games for Real Sociedad this season, including two appearances against Man United in the Europa League group stage.

Barcelona are also believed to be interested after identifying Zubimendi as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
