Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea insists that he will not move to Barcelona if he returns to Spain in the future.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has revealed that Madrid would be his only destination if he were to return to Spain later in his career.

De Gea has impressed for United this season as they look on course to regain the Premier League title from Manchester City.

Speculation has identified De Gea as a possible replacement for Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes, but the former Atletico Madrid stopper has insisted that he would only return to Spain to play in his nation's capital city.

The 22-year-old told The Sun: "I know things have been said and written but I have a contract. I'm very well in Manchester.

"It is not just my name that appears. At Barca, Valdes is still the keeper and Madrid is my city, one day I'd like to return. But now I hope to stay in Manchester for a long time and win a lot of titles."

De Gea made 84 appearances over a two-year spell at Madrid before he moved to England in 2011.
