Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho, who has been linked with Man United, Arsenal and Spurs this summer, would reportedly only consider a loan move back to Liverpool.

Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho would reportedly only consider a loan move back to former club Liverpool after rejecting an offer from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 27-year-old has been persistently linked with a return to the Premier League this summer, with Barcelona understood to be open to the idea of offloading him either on a permanent or temporary basis.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs have all been credited with an interest in Coutinho, but talkSPORT reports that Liverpool are the only English club he would join this summer.

The Brazil international spent five years at Anfield between 2013 and 2018, scoring 54 goals in 201 appearances for the club before sealing a big-money move to Barcelona.

However, Liverpool reportedly have no plans to bring Coutinho back to Merseyside before today's 5pm transfer deadline, due largely to the fee Barcelona would charge even for a loan agreement.

The playmaker remains determined to fight for his place at Barcelona, who have brought in Antoine Griezmann this summer to add extra competition for places.
