Arsene Wenger confirms that his Arsenal players will form a guard of honour for Premier League champions Manchester United on Sunday.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that his team will form a guard of honour for newly-crowned Premier League champions Manchester United when they arrive at the Emirates on Sunday.

Reports had emerged suggesting that a number of players were opposed to carrying out the tradition for the club that snatched Robin van Persie from the Gunners last summer.

Despite speculation over whether the guard of honour would go ahead or not, Wenger has insisted that he wants to pay respect to the Red Devils.

"I want the traditions of English football to be respected," Wenger said in a press conference.

United clinched the title on Monday evening with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
