Manchester United are reportedly keen to extend Jose Mourinho's stay at the club despite the former Chelsea boss being less than six months in to a three-year contract.

Manchester United are reportedly eager to extend manager Jose Mourinho's contract at the club.

Mourinho only arrived at Old Trafford in July and is just five months into a three-year deal, but United's hierarchy are thought to be pleased with what they have seen during his time in charge so far.

United currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, but they have begun to hit form in recent weeks and are currently enjoying a 10-match unbeaten streak that includes seven victories.

The Red Devils are also on a three-match winning run in the league, which has seen them close the gap on the top four to four points.

Mourinho has never spent more than three years in charge at a club in one stint before, but the former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss is also thought to be open to the idea of extending his stay in Manchester.

United will look to make it four consecutive Premier League wins for the first time under Mourinho when they host Sunderland on Boxing Day.
