Dietmar Hamann urges Premier League clubs to sign Robert Lewandowski

Dietmar Hamann believes that Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal should "break the bank" for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

Dietmar Hamann has urged Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal to "break the bank" in an attempt to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

The Poland international was left on the bench until the 75th minute in Tuesday's goalless draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, and has often been forced to share his minutes on the pitch with Thomas Muller.

However, Hamann believes that the fact Lewandowski is not a certain starter should persuade the Premier League clubs to launch moves in the summer.

"If you look at Manchester United, I think they could do with a Lewandowski," the former Liverpool midfielder told Sky Sports News. "At the moment United, Liverpool and even Arsenal. Lewandowski is tailor-made for them.

"He came to Bayern Munich on a free last year but if there was an opportunity to get him out I'd break the bank for him because I think he's the best number nine in the world."

Lewandowski has scored 11 goals in all competitions this season.
