Torrential hail temporarily halts Stoke City, Manchester United United

A torrential hailstorm forces referee Mark Clattenburg to bring a temporary close to proceedings at the Britannia Stadium.

Referee Mark Clattenburg has brought a temporary halt to proceedings between Stoke City and Manchester United at the Britannia Stadium due to a torrential downpour of hailstones.

The two teams are still locked at 0-0 with 29 minutes gone.

Clattenburg later told Sky Sports News that he could not see the action, and neither manager complained about his decision to send the teams back to the dressing room.

The game resumed 10 minutes later with Ashley Young taking a corner kick.
