Ashley Young could be out for 'many weeks' with a hamstring injury

Manchester United winger Ashley Young is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury at Stoke City.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young could be out for "many weeks" with injury, according to his manager Louis van Gaal.

Young limped out of United's 1-1 draw at Stoke City with a hamstring injury, and the Dutch manager believes that he will be on the sidelines for a while.

However, he did tell reporters after the game: "I'm not a doctor so we have to wait for tomorrow or the day after."

Young has become a key player under Van Gaal but is the latest injury in a season full of fitness problems for the Dutchman, with his defence suffering multiple injuries all year.

Young has played 12 times this season.
